Comments from Wine Buyer Steve

This Margaret River Sunsets Shiraz 2018 has great fruit weight and intensity. Typical Margaret River black jube, fruit sweetness and length. Ripe tannins. It has had good oak treatment, so the oak is well integrated. The fruit quality is outstanding with plenty of dark berry flavours and body. Outstanding value for money at $12.00 per bottle

91/100  – WACC Silver Medal.

About The Producer

The winery that produces this 2018 Margaret River Shiraz is a family-operated winery located in the Swan Valley. The winery is the third-largest winery in the Swan Valley. They also source premium quality fruit from other regions of Western Australia such as Pemberton, Margaret River and the Great Southern. They have a young and funky winemaking team who put love and passion into every wine they produce.

What is Shiraz?

The French and Americans call it Syrah, we call it Shiraz. A versatile variety and well suited to a range of climates, and can be found in most of the grape growing regions of Australia.

In hot climates (such as the Barossa Valley of Australia), Shiraz is more consistently full-bodied with softer tannin, jammier fruit and spice notes of liquorice, anise and earthy leather. In many regions, the acidity and tannin levels of Shiraz allows the wines produced from the grape to have favourable aging potential.
