Tasmanian Limited Release Pinot Noir 2014
About The Wine
This magnificent cool climate Limited Release Pinot Noir 2014 from just outside Hobart in Southern Tasmanian just oozes cool climate class and sophistication. This is a rich svelte and beautifully flavoured pinot noir with plenty of good fruit, good balance and a long persistent finish. Just a sensational cool climate Tasmanian Pinot Noir wrapped up with some good bottle age.
Comments from Wine Buyer Steve:
I was very lucky to recently do a wine buying trip to Tasmania and was blown away by all the wines I tasted. After much negotiation, I have finally got my hands on this magnificent 2014 Pinot Noir from a beautiful small family winery located just outside of Hobart at Latitude 34. The hospitality of the couple that owns this winery was amazing and I am very happy they agreed to supply us some of this wine as they are about to retire. is a rich svelte and beautifully flavoured pinot with plenty of fruit, good balance and a long persistent finish. Just a sensational cool climate Tasmanian Pinot Noir with some bottle age. This is an exceptional value at $20.00 per bottle as the winery sells it under the brand at $40.00 per bottle.
My Score 96/100 WACC Trophy.
About The Producer
The winery that has produced this magnificent 2014 Limited Release Pinot Noir is a small boutique, family vineyard in Southern Tasmania, at Latitude 43. The basalt-based soil; harsh windy conditions and the choice of five clones combine to create some interesting Pinot Noir wines. The fruit was picked by hand and processed immediately. Great care has been taken in the winemaking process to ensure that the full flavour and natural characteristics of the wine are maintained.
About the region:
Vineyards are closer to Hobart than any other capital city in Australia, including in the Derwent Valley, Coal River Valley and the Huon / Channel wine growing areas. South of Hobart is the clear waters and stunning coastline of Bruny Island, the fertile soils of the Huon Valley where vineyards and orchards nestle side-by-side, and the picturesque beauty of the D’Entrecasteaux Channel. East of Hobart are the wineries and vineyards of the Coal River Valley and the Tasman National Park with its spectacular coastline and historic convict sites.
A truly magnificent cool climate wine region.
